Rack transfers are heavy duty chain and roller conveyor systems for staging and presenting large steel racks for pick and pack operations.
Features
Rack transfers are automated floor mounted powered conveyor systems designed to move large and heavy racks. They feature all steel construction, heavy-duty components and controls based safety interlocks.
Commonly, there is one inbound lane, a presentation section and one outbound lane. Additional lanes may be incorporated into these systems for more complex applications.
Benefits
Rack transfers streamline material handling in a plant and provide a cost savings by reducing forklift and operator idle time. Each lane of a rack transfer can store several racks allowing a forklift to load or unload multiple racks at one time.
Applications
Rack transfers are popular in automotive assembly plants as they are able to buffer a large number of racks for each subassembly.
